Miracle Advance Technologies has launched Patient Portal 2.4.0. This update includes changes to LDAP login, user approval, user management, role assignments, job types, and menu access.
This release ensures organizations have more control over how users are created, approved, managed, and assigned access within the Patient Portal. It also introduces an API User job type for order creation and system integration.
What’s New in Patient Portal 2.4.0?
The latest Patient Portal update focuses on three areas: LDAP authentication and user approval, user management and role assignment, and job types and menu permissions.
1. LDAP Authentication & User Approval
Patient Portal 2.4.0 introduces a new approval workflow for users signing in through LDAP.
- New User Approval Flow: When a user logs in through LDAP for the first time, the system automatically creates the account with a Pending Approval status. The user cannot access the Patient Portal until an administrator reviews and activates the account.
- Organization Settings: Administrators can manage this approval directly from the User page. This provides organizations with an additional step for reviewing new LDAP users before granting them access to the Patient Portal.
2. User Management & Role Assignment
Managing users is easier when administrators can manage key account details from a single location. With the latest update, admins have more control over user status, roles, and contact information without adding extra steps.
- User Status Management: Admin users can update a user’s status, including Pending, Approved, and Deleted, directly from the User Edit page.
- User Role Management: Need to change what an existing user can access? Admins can update the assigned role from User List → User Edit.
- Email Update: User contact details can also be kept up to date, with admins able to edit the user’s personal email from the User Edit page.

3. Job Types & Menu Permissions
As integrations become part of everyday workflows, not every user needs direct access to the Patient Portal. The 2.4.0 update introduces clearer controls for separating integration tasks from regular user access.
- API User Job Type: The new API User job type is designed specifically for order creation and system integration. It supports integration workflows without allowing the account to log in to the portal.

- Job Type & Menu Permissions: Job Types can now be associated with menu permissions, helping organizations control which areas of the portal are available based on each user’s role and purpose.

How to Access the Update

- Log out of your account.
- Perform a hard refresh in your browser by pressing Ctrl + Shift + R.
