In recent decades, endoscopy imaging has emerged as a pivotal component in medical diagnostics and treatments. The optimization of endoscopy imaging quality, a significant challenge in the field, has been facilitated by notable strides in Information Technology (IT). The United States witnesses over 20 million GI endoscopies annually, while the UK recorded 1.5 million procedures in 2020 alone. To meet this escalating demand, endoscopists increasingly rely on IT systems equipped with cutting-edge software, high-resolution displays, and advanced image-processing techniques. These systems not only enhance the quality of endoscopy imaging but also offer novel tools for procedure optimization, as well as sophisticated facilities for reporting and storage.
